Our Family Story

Paul and I met while in college when we were just 18 years old. After remaining friends for some time, we eventually started dating in December 2005. After dating 2.5 years, we finally tied the knot. Throughout our marriage counseling, we'd determined that we wanted 2 or 3 kids, but after being married for a while, we both felt perfectly happy not having kids.

Fast forward several years to 2013 and the Lord drastically changed our hearts. It was like a light-switch was flipped and we wanted kids now. Our prayers were answered and we welcomed our daughter, Lydia on Thanksgiving night in 2013.

After we had Lydia we knew that we wanted another child, but not right away. We bought our new home in June 2015 and had multiple people say, "new home, new baby." That was our exact thoughts, too! Only 3 months later I found out I was pregnant again. In April 2016, we welcomed our son, Caleb.

And that was it! We had a girl and a boy; we were done having kids and were both okay with that. That is until the spring of 2018. I began starting to desire having another child. For several months I yearned for another baby. That's when the seed of adoption was planted.
